Backstage crew work behind the scenes to assist with the smooth operation of all productions.
There are a variety of tasks including:-
Full training and support will be given to ensure you are confident in carrying out all necessary activities in a controlled and safe manner.
Whether you can donate one evening or a series of evenings in a week, the stage crew team work together to ensure the smooth running of all productions.
Stage crew are needed approximately 45 minutes before the show until the end of the show (18.45 — 22.00). Additionally there are also afternoon performances on Saturdays.
Additionally if you want to get more involved you can train for a role as Assistant Stage Manager, where you cover a full show alongside the Stage Manager ensuring the whole production runs smoothly and liaising with the performing company and other Joseph Rowntree Theatre volunteers.
Due to the physical nature of the stage side work and the hazards involved volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
